Monsoon activity continues across Nepal, heavy rain forecast today

KATHMANDU: Monsoon activity remains widespread across Nepal, with rainfall expected in several parts of the country as the monsoon winds continue to influence the weather.

According to the Weather Forecasting Division, heavy rainfall is likely at isolated locations in Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces. Most parts of the country are expected to remain generally cloudy during both the daytime and nighttime.

Light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning is forecast at several locations across the hilly, mountainous and Terai regions. The weather conditions could affect daily activities and travel, particularly in areas that receive heavy downpours.

The continuation of rainfall also raises the possibility of localized waterlogging, reduced visibility and slippery road conditions in vulnerable areas. People in areas prone to landslides and flooding are advised to remain alert and follow updates issued by the authorities.

The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology regularly provides weather forecasts, warnings and rainfall monitoring updates through its official services.
