KATHMANDU: Both houses of the Federal Parliament are scheduled to meet today to deliberate on various legislative and parliamentary matters. The meeting of the House of Representatives will begin at 1:00 pm, while the National Assembly will convene at 1:15 pm.
At today’s meeting of the House of Representatives, Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle is likely to present the Citizens Investment Fund (Third Amendment) Bill, 2083, and the Payment and Settlement (First Amendment) Bill, 2083).
Minister Wagle is also scheduled to present a proposal seeking consideration of the Employees Provident Fund (Tenth Amendment) Bill, 2083.
Similarly, Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Sobita Gautam will present a proposal to hold a general discussion on obtaining membership in the Council of Asian Legislative Institutions.
The Speaker is also scheduled to present a condolence motion on the death of former National Assembly member Shukraraj Sanyok.
Meanwhile, at the National Assembly meeting, Prime Minister Balendra Shah is scheduled to present the Annual Report of the National Human Rights Commission for the Fiscal Years 2080/81 and 2081/82.
Prime Minister Shah is also likely to present a proposal for discussion of the Bill on Revival of the Existing Provisions of the Nepal Special Service Act, 2042, received from the House of Representatives along with the report of the Legislative Management Committee.
According to the Federal Parliament Secretariat, the agenda includes discussion and passage of the proposal in the National Assembly.
