KATHMANDU: Ten thematic committees of the House of Representatives (HoR) have been formed, with the allocation of lawmakers to each committee now finalized.
Speaker Dol Prasad (DP) Aryal informed Friday’s meeting of the House of Representatives about the formation of the committees and presented the list of members assigned to each. He also briefed the House on the overall structure and functioning of the parliamentary committee system.
The House committees include Finance; International Relations; Industry, Commerce, Labour and Consumer Welfare; Law, Justice and Human Rights; Agriculture, Cooperatives and Natural Resources; Infrastructure Development; Women and Social Affairs; State Affairs and Good Governance; Education, Health and Information Technology; and the Public Accounts Committee.
Similarly, two joint committees of the Federal Parliament have also been formed. These are the Parliamentary Hearing Committee and the Committee on Directive Principles, Policies and Responsibilities Implementation Monitoring and Evaluation.
