President Paudel highlights economic growth as foundation for national prosperity

KATHMANDU: President Ram Chandra Paudel has stated that the development and expansion of trade, industry, and economic activities are the fundamental pillars of the country’s economic prosperity.

Addressing the 75th Annual General Meeting and Diamond Jubilee celebration of the Nepal Chamber of Commerce in Kathmandu on Friday, President Paudel called upon all stakeholders to unite toward achieving the economic prosperity envisioned by the people to further strengthen the federal democratic republic.

The President remarked that the successful completion of elections, which helped navigate the country through a complex situation, has entrusted the elected parliament and government with the grave responsibility of uplifting the public’s living standards. He emphasized that this must be achieved through good governance, economic growth, and efficient service delivery.

He further noted that the private sector plays an equally vital role in fulfilling the state’s responsibilities. Asserting that political stability is the bedrock of economic progress, President Paudel stated that only a stable government, clear policies, and sustainable strategies can accelerate industrial development, investment expansion, and job creation.

President Paudel also emphasized the need to view the private sector not merely as a tax-paying entity but as a critical partner in nation-building. He lauded the Nepal Chamber of Commerce, the first representative organization of the private sector, for its continuous contributions to promoting industry, creating an investment-friendly environment, and fostering entrepreneurship in the country.
