NC President Thapa urges supporters to turn trust into votes

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress President Gagan Kumar Thapa has urged party leaders and cadres to convert the trust placed in the party into votes in the upcoming election.

Addressing party leaders and cadres at Jhumka of Sunsari constituency-2 on Tuesday, Thapa called on them to work towards ensuring the victory of Nepali Congress candidate Rajiv Koirala.

“You have trusted and loved the Nepali Congress and me. Now, I request you to cast your votes for Rajiv Koirala from this constituency and ensure his victory. I will fulfill the remaining responsibilities,” Thapa said.

The NC President also asked party leaders and cadres to inform the public whether the party has delivered on its commitments.

“Please tell the people whether the Nepali Congress has fulfilled what it promised,” he said, adding, “I have stood on your trust. We have delivered on our commitments, and the Congress has returned as a changed party.”

Stating that the election code of conduct has limited what can be said publicly at present, Thapa said the transformed Congress must work with a strong foundation to end corruption and ensure good governance.
