Monitoring of polling stations continues in Kaski



POKHARA: Monitoring of polling stations in Kaski district is ongoing in preparation for the upcoming House of Representatives election. Officials from the District Security Committee, along with the Chief Electoral Officer, are regularly inspecting polling stations across the district.

Assistant Chief District Officer Chitrangat Baral said polling stations identified as highly sensitive and sensitive from a security perspective are being given priority during monitoring. He said the inspections aim to assess the actual condition of polling centers in coordination with local representatives, school principals or vice principals, and local leaders.

During the monitoring, officials are reviewing compliance with the election code of conduct, as well as the status of physical infrastructure, electricity, drinking water, and other essential facilities at polling stations.

Baral added that security arrangements and road access conditions are also being inspected, and coordination is underway with concerned agencies to address any shortcomings. Efforts are being made to improve road conditions to ensure smooth movement of voters on election day.

A comprehensive security strategy has been prepared to ensure the election is conducted in a free, fair, and fear-free environment. According to officials, around 2,000 security personnel from the Nepali Army, Armed Police Force, and Nepal Police will be deployed in Kaski. In addition, 2,303 election police personnel will be mobilized for election security.
