Commercial coffee farming technical training provided to Kavre farmers



DHULIKHEL: Farmers involved in coffee cultivation in Mahabharat Rural Municipality of Kavrepalanchok have been provided with commercial coffee farming technology training aimed at improving productivity and skills.

The training was organised by the rural municipality for farmers who have planted between 400 and 500 coffee plants for commercial purposes.

Agricultural technician Khim Bahadur Dangi of Mahabharat Rural Municipality said the objective of the training was to strengthen the technical capacity of farmers engaged in commercial coffee farming within the municipality.

A total of 45 farmers from all wards of the rural municipality were selected for the training.

According to the municipality, participants were trained on a wide range of topics, including coffee planting, sapling care, harvesting techniques, drying processes and marketing.

The rural municipality has so far distributed 331,000 coffee saplings, and around 1,920 families are currently involved in coffee farming across the municipality.
