KATHMANDU: Kathmandu Valley experienced a further drop in temperature on Saturday, with the minimum temperature falling below 3 degrees Celsius in the initial measurement.
According to the Weather Forecasting Division, the minimum temperature in Kathmandu was recorded at 2.9 degrees Celsius at 5:45 am. Officials said this is only a preliminary reading, and the official minimum temperature for the day will be determined at 8:45 am, when the temperature may drop further.
On Friday as well, the initial minimum temperature in Kathmandu Valley was recorded at 3 degrees Celsius, which later declined to 2.4 degrees Celsius at 8:45 am—the official minimum temperature for the day.
The Division measures minimum and maximum temperatures daily at various locations across the country, including Kathmandu. The minimum temperature is recorded at 8:45 am, while the maximum temperature is measured at 5:45 pm.
The lowest reading of the day is considered the minimum temperature, and the highest reading is recorded as the maximum temperature.
