Lalitpur Court orders arrest of ANFA President and General Secretary



KATHMANDU: The Lalitpur District Court has ordered the issuance of arrest warrants against All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) President Pankaj Bikram Nembang and General Secretary Kiran Rai.

The order was issued by a bench presided over by District Judge Bhagawati Sharma Dhungana, according to Tikadhwaj Karki, information officer at the Lalitpur District Court.

The same bench ordered the release of ANFA Treasurer Rabindra Joshi and Accounts Officer Sanjeev Pandey on bail. Joshi was granted bail of Rs 1.5 million, while Pandey was granted bail of Rs 1.2 million.

The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police arrested Joshi and Pandey a few days ago.

Based on the CIB’s investigation report, the District Government Attorney’s Office in Lalitpur filed a case at the district court on Thursday, naming four individuals, including Nembang and Rai, as defendants.
