Two killed in separate road accidents in Sunsari



SUNSARI: Two people, including a technical officer at Radio Nepal, have died in separate road accidents in Sunsari district.

Prakash Lal Thandar, 55, of Gadhi Rural Municipality-2, died after the motorcycle he was riding (Ba 75 Pa 3110) fell from a bridge at Simarbana in Duhabi Municipality-11 last evening, according to Chandra Bahadur Khadka, information officer at the District Police Office, Sunsari.

Thandar, who sustained serious injuries in the accident, was rushed to Birat Teaching Hospital, where he died during treatment. He was working as a technical officer at Radio Nepal’s Tarini Prasad Koirala Smriti Sanchar Gram in Biratnagar.

In a separate incident, Rajendra Prasad Ghimire, 55, of Itahari Sub-Metropolitan City-5, died after the motorcycle he was riding collided with a city safari at Gurans Chowk in Dharan Sub-Metropolitan City-8 on Tuesday evening.

Ghimire, who was seriously injured in the accident, died during treatment at BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences in Dharan on Wednesday. Police are investigating both incidents.
