KATHMANDU: Prime Minister (PM) Balendra Shah (Balen) has begun separate discussions with the chiefs of Nepal’s three security agencies to assess the situation following the Bhote Koshi River flood in Rasuwa.
The discussions are aimed at receiving detailed briefings on the overall situation following the flood on August 26, including search and rescue operations, relief distribution and treatment of those affected. The prime minister is also expected to issue necessary instructions based on the briefings.
According to the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, Shah is currently holding discussions with Chief of Army Staff Ashok Raj Sigdel at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers in Singha Durbar.
Following his meeting with Sigdel, the prime minister is scheduled to hold separate discussions today with Nepal Police Inspector General Dan Bahadur Karki and Armed Police Force, Nepal Inspector General Narayan Dutta Poudel.
