Rain likely in hills, hot conditions expected in Terai



KATHMANDU: Weather conditions are expected to remain unstable across Nepal today, with the possibility of rain accompanied by thunder and lightning in several provinces, according to the Weather Forecasting Division.

According to the division, most of the mountainous and hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces are generally cloudy at present, while other areas are partly cloudy.

This afternoon, the mountainous and hilly regions across the country, including Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, are likely to remain generally cloudy. The Terai areas of Sudurpaschim Province are expected to remain partly cloudy.

The division has forecast the possibility of moderate to heavy rain accompanied by thunder and lightning in a few places in the mountainous and hilly regions of Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces.

Light rainfall with thunder and lightning is also possible in one or two places in the Terai of Lumbini Province and in the mountainous and hilly areas of Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces. Hot weather conditions are likely in some places in the Terai areas of Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim provinces.

Tonight, the mountainous and hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, along with other mountainous regions, are expected to remain generally cloudy, while the hilly regions of Madhes Province and other provinces may see partly cloudy conditions.

There is a possibility of light rain with thunder and lightning in a few places in the mountainous and hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, and in one or two places in Madhes Province and other mountainous regions.
