Government must respect constitutional right to housing: Harka Sampang Rai

BAGMATI: Harka Sampang Rai, chairperson of the Shram Sanskriti Party, has said the government must respect and protect the constitutional right to housing.

Speaking during an interaction with residents of a squatter settlement at Simaltar in Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City-11 on Saturday, Rai stressed the need to remove public doubts regarding the government’s commitment to safeguarding housing rights guaranteed by the constitution.

He also urged the government to first ensure proper settlement and housing management for landless and unmanaged settlers before carrying out any further actions related to eviction or relocation.
