Heavy rain disrupts Butwal-Narayangadh road

NAWALPARASI: Traffic on the Butwal-Narayangadh road has been severely disrupted due to heavy rainfall on Wednesday.

The Daunne section of Binayi Triveni Rural Municipality-2 along the East-West Highway in Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Susta East) has been completely blocked as roads turned slippery and muddy.

Areas near Ghiukhola and Bishwakarma Temple in Daunne saw vehicles getting stuck, according to Superintendent of Police Yubaraj Khadka of the District Police Office, Nawalparasi.

The Narayangadh-Butwal Road Project said repair work is underway, including laying gravel to restore passage in the Daunne section. Officials noted that the ongoing road expansion in this area has not been completed, making it particularly vulnerable to blockage even from minor rainfall.
