Indigenous Nationalities Commission launches free online PSC prep classes

KATHMANDU: The National Foundation for Development of Indigenous Nationalities (NFDIN) has launched free online preparation classes for Public Service Commission (PSC) exams, targeting candidates for Section Officer (Shakha) and Non-Gazetted First Class (Nayab Subba) positions.

The program was formally inaugurated on Thursday. Speaking at the event, NFDIN Member-Secretary Gyanendra Pun said the foundation is currently running orientation programs across all seven provinces. He added that such targeted initiatives aim to make youths from Indigenous Nationalities communities more competitive in PSC examinations.

NFDIN Vice-Chairperson Keshav Gurung said the foundation has been consistently working for the protection, empowerment and advancement of Indigenous Nationalities. “If we use this opportunity properly, we can produce capable and competent civil servants for the country,” he said.

Former PSC Chairperson Umesh Mainali said the Public Service Commission is Nepal’s first democratic institution and stressed that the examination system is free from irregularities. He described serving the nation as a civil servant as a matter of pride and honour.

According to the foundation, the online classes will run for 160 days for Section Officer candidates and 115 days for Nayab Subba candidates. The programme is being implemented in collaboration with Network Education Academy.

More than 2,000 students from across the country are expected to benefit from the initiative.
