KATHMANDU: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chair Rabi Lamichhane has said the party is now in a position to answer every question raised by youth from the streets.
In a statement issued on Tuesday to mark the first anniversary of the Gen-Z movement, Lamichhane said those in power must remain prepared to answer to the public.
“Time has put us in a position to answer every question asked by the youth from the streets last year,” he said. “It has also reminded us that someone may stand up again tomorrow to demand answers from us.”
Lamichhane said the Gen-Z movement was not initiated by any particular political party but was a spontaneous awakening of the people, particularly the youth. He warned that no political party or leader should attempt to exploit the movement for narrow political interests.
He also called for continued constructive vigilance and rigorous scrutiny of the government’s performance, while cautioning against allowing a narrative of despair to take root in society.
“We must all unite in this historic journey of transforming civic anger into a force for nation-building,” Lamichhane said. “I firmly resolve that we will not deviate even an inch from the path of the rule of law, equitable prosperity, and national self-respect carved out by that awakening.”
