KATHMANDU: Nepal is playing against Hong Kong in their final group-stage match of the ongoing ACC Premier Cup 2026 in Malaysia. The match is scheduled to begin soon today at Bayuemas Oval in Kuala Lumpur.
Nepal has an opportunity to secure the top spot in the group with a victory. The team remains unbeaten after three matches and currently leads the points table with six points.
Nepal defeated Bahrain by seven wickets in its opening match, followed by a six-wicket victory over hosts Malaysia and a five-wicket win against Saudi Arabia. The Nepali side will be aiming for another convincing victory against Hong Kong today.
Hong Kong, meanwhile, has won two of its three matches and suffered one defeat.
Nepal and Hong Kong have faced each other four times in ODI cricket so far. Nepal has won once, while Hong Kong has recorded two victories. One match between the two sides was abandoned due to rain.
The two teams last met in an ODI in 2018, when Nepal secured a five-wicket victory over Hong Kong. Nepal will be hoping to repeat that success eight years later in today’s encounter.
