Five new industries approved for Dharan Industrial Estate

DHARAN: Five new manufacturing industries have received approval to operate at the Dharan Industrial Estate as the current fiscal year 2082/83 BS nears its end.

The approvals came after the leases of several long-inactive factories were cancelled, making way for new domestic investments worth approximately Rs 350 million, according to Jeev Narayan Banjade, chief of the Dharan Industrial Estate Office.

Banjade said the new industries are expected to generate direct employment for around 350 people once they become fully operational.

The approved industries include Preeti Valve and Fitting Industries, GD Steel Industries, Siddi Vinayak Cottage Industry, JR Ventures, and Surya Diamond Industries. However, the lease agreement for Surya Diamond Industries is still awaiting final approval from the central office.

The industries will manufacture products such as water meters and fittings, construction materials, food items, animal feed, and household utensils.

According to Banjade, the leases of five inactive industries were terminated after completing all legal procedures, including public bidding and lease transfer processes.

He said priority has been given to production-based industries that can help reduce imports, increase government revenue, strengthen the local economy, and promote export opportunities. Some of the products manufactured by the new industries also have export potential.

Established in 2032 BS, the Dharan Industrial Estate currently accommodates 35 industries. Of these, 30 are in operation, while five are in the process of being established, providing employment to around 1,000 people.
