Ministry launches campaign to address frequent power outages

KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation has launched a special campaign to address frequent power outages during the monsoon season.

According to the ministry, the initiative prioritizes resolving recurring electricity disruptions caused by the rainy season and ensuring a more reliable power supply.

The secretariat of Energy Minister Biraj Bhakta Shrestha said the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has deployed technical personnel and kept the necessary equipment on standby around the clock to respond promptly to complaints.

The ministry said it has stepped up preparedness to address potential monsoon-related disruptions and ensure electricity services remain regular and dependable.

Consumers have been requested to contact the NEA’s toll-free hotline numbers 1150 or 1151 to report any complaints or problems related to electricity supply.
