Dry landslide blocks Narayangadh–Muglin road section

CHITWAN: Vehicular movement along the Narayangadh–Muglin road section has been disrupted after a dry landslide blocked the highway early this morning.

According to police, the landslide occurred at Tuinkhola in Ichchhakamana Rural Municipality–5, resulting in a complete obstruction of traffic along one of the country’s key highways linking the Kathmandu Valley with western Nepal.

Police Inspector Pratik Singh, Chief of the Area Police Office, Muglin, said traffic has been fully halted following the incident. Security personnel have been deployed at the site, and efforts are underway to clear the debris in coordination with the Road Division Office.

Authorities said continuous monitoring is being carried out due to the risk of further small-scale falls in the area. Travelers have been advised to use alternative routes where possible and to follow updates from traffic police before planning their journey.

The Narayangadh–Muglin stretch is considered highly vulnerable to landslides, especially during unstable weather conditions and dry soil collapses along steep cliff sections.
