PM Shah underlines peace as a shared priority, pledges stronger ties with partner nations



KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Balendra Shah stressed the importance of peace as a common priority during a collective meeting with ambassadors and heads of diplomatic missions in Nepal on Wednesday.

“Ongoing conflicts affect ordinary citizens the most. I am confident we all agree that peace must remain a shared priority,” Prime Minister Shah said. “I expect collective efforts in this direction and wish to thank all friends present here for their continued friendship and support to Nepal.”

During the meeting at the Prime Minister’s Office in Singha Durbar, Shah reaffirmed the government’s commitment to strengthening partnerships based on mutual trust and benefits. He highlighted that Nepal follows a balanced and pragmatic foreign policy, guided by the goal of shared prosperity.

Shah also assured that the government is focused on creating a favorable investment environment, promoting entrepreneurship, and supporting sustainable development. He emphasized plans to integrate Nepal more strongly into regional and global economic structures in line with national interests.

The Prime Minister underlined that the safety and welfare of Nepalis living abroad remain a high priority. He added that the government is determined to maintain political stability and a consistent policy direction, even with the formation of a new administration.

The meeting included discussions on advancing cooperation in development, trade, investment, climate action, and people-to-people relations. Foreign Minister Shishir Khanal, the Prime Minister’s political advisor Asim Shah, Chief Secretary Sumanraj Aryal, Foreign Secretary Amrit Bahadur Rai, and other officials were also present.
