Shram Sanskriti Party’s Rai elected from Khotang



KHOTANG: Aren Rai, general secretary of the Shram Sanskriti Party, has been elected as a member of the House of Representatives from Khotang, winning by a margin of 3,898 votes over CPN-UML candidate Dev Bikram Rai.

Aren, from Sungde in Kepilasgadhi Rural Municipality-1 Phedi, secured 16,612 votes, while Dev Bikram Rai received 12,714 votes, according to the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer.

Other candidates’ vote counts included: Birkaji Rai (Nepali Congress) 11,957; Dr. Hari Rokka (NCP) 9,443; Rudra Giri (Rastriya Swatantra Party) 5,704; Miresh Rai (Rastriya Parivartan Party) 947.
