HoR polls: RSP maintains lead, wins 101 constituencies so far



KATHMANDU: Vote counting for the House of Representatives (HoR) under the first-past-the-post system is ongoing nationwide. So far, the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has secured victories in 101 constituencies and is still leading in 24 more.

The party, which maintained a strong lead from the early stages of counting, confirmed its wins after results from 129 constituencies were announced.

The Nepali Congress, in second place, has won 15 seats and is leading in only one additional constituency. The CPN-UML has won 7 seats and is ahead in 4 constituencies, while the Nepali Communist Party (NCP) has also won 7 seats and is leading in 2 constituencies.

Other parties have smaller victories: the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) and one independent candidate have each won a seat, while the Shram Sanskriti Party has won one constituency and is leading in two more.

Meanwhile, the RSP also leads in proportional representation. Out of 2.374 million votes counted, the party has received 1.203 million votes. The Nepali Congress follows with 404,000 votes, the CPN-UML with 2.222 million votes, and the NCP with 1.056 million votes. Smaller parties include the RPP with 88,000 votes and the Shram Sanskriti Party with 47,000 votes.
