UML’s Suhang Nembang secures second win in Ilam-2

ILAM: CPN-UML candidate Suhang Nembang has been elected from Ilam Constituency-2, securing 22,426 votes.

His closest rival, Nepali Congress candidate Bheshraj Acharya, received 14,650 votes, while Sudip Rai of the Shram Sanskriti Party came third with 14,400 votes.

This marks Nembang’s second victory as a member of the House of Representatives. Earlier, in the by-election held in 2081 BS, he defeated Nepali Congress candidate Dambar Bahadur Khadka from the same constituency by a margin of 5,820 votes. Nembang had secured 27,772 votes in that election, while Khadka received 21,942.

This is also Acharya’s second electoral defeat. In the 2070 BS Constituent Assembly election, he lost to Suhang’s father, Subash Chandra Nembang, by a margin of 2,102 votes.
