Girl dies, woman injured in elephant attack in Kanchanpur



KANCHANPUR: A six-year-old girl has died and a woman injured after a wild elephant attacked a house in Laljhandi Rural Municipality-6, Kanchanpur.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Hem Bahadur Shahi, spokesperson for the District Police Office, the elephant attacked the home of Kishan Singh Saud in Chandev last night. Six-year-old Rojina Saud, Saud’s daughter, succumbed to her injuries during treatment at Navajivan Hospital in Dhangadhi.

Saud’s 55-year-old mother, Parbati Saud, was also injured while attempting to escape the attack. She has been referred to Dhangadhi for further treatment.
