KATHMANDU: Cold conditions persisted in the Kathmandu Valley on Thursday, with early-morning readings showing a further dip in temperature compared to the previous day.
According to the Weather Forecasting Division, the minimum temperature in Kathmandu was 3.3 degrees Celsius at 5:45 am today. At the same time on Wednesday, the minimum temperature stood at 3.5 degrees Celsius.
However, the temperature dropped further later in the morning, with Wednesday’s official minimum recorded at 3 degrees Celsius at 8:45 am. Today’s official minimum temperature will also be recorded at 8:45 am, and there is a possibility of a further decline.
The Division measures minimum and maximum temperatures daily across the country, including in Kathmandu. The minimum temperature is recorded at 8:45 am, while the maximum temperature is measured at 5:45 pm.
On Wednesday, Jumla recorded the lowest minimum temperature in the country at minus 6.2 degrees Celsius, while Dhangadhi recorded the highest minimum temperature at 10.5 degrees Celsius.
