EC opens complaint window for NA candidates



KATHMANDU: With 56 days remaining until the House of Representatives (HoR) elections, the Election Commission (EC) has opened the window for filing complaints against candidates contesting the upcoming National Assembly (NA) elections.

The Commission’s Joint Secretary and Spokesperson, Narayan Prasad Bhattarai, said that the registration of nomination papers was completed smoothly on Wednesday at the offices of election officers in all seven provincial capitals.

According to the election schedule, nomination papers and any registered complaints will be scrutinized on January 9 and 10. Candidates will be allowed to withdraw their nominations on January 11, after which the final list of candidates will be published the same day. Election symbols will be allotted to candidates on January 12.
