Govt appoints office bearers to three national academies



KATHMANDU: The government has appointed office bearers, including chancellors, to all three academies.

Prime Minister Balendra Shah made the appointments to the Nepal Academy, Nepal Academy of Fine Arts, and Nepal Academy of Music and Drama based on the recommendations of a committee formed under the leadership of Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Khadgaraj Poudel.

Kumar Nagarkoti has been appointed Chancellor of the Nepal Academy, while Abinash Shrestha has been appointed Vice-Chancellor and Roshan Sherchan Member Secretary.

The council members of the Nepal Academy are Pratisara Manandhar, Krishnaraj Chaudhary, Sita Subba, Tirtha Bahadur Gurung, Rupa Kumari, Nabin Nepali, Deepak Sapkota, and Durga Bahadur Gharti.

Similarly, Erina Tamrakar has been appointed Chancellor of the Nepal Academy of Fine Arts, Chandrashyam Dango Vice-Chancellor, and Kailash Kumar Shrestha Member Secretary.

The council members of the Nepal Academy of Fine Arts are Jupiter Pradhan, Kubir Dewan, Sangi Shrestha, Dhruvraj Sharma, Om Prakash Yadav, and Bina Paudyal.

Likewise, Brajesh Khanal has been appointed Chancellor of the Nepal Academy of Music and Drama, Jhuma Banem Vice-Chancellor, and Bhupendra Singh Rayamajhi Member Secretary.

The council members of the Nepal Academy of Music and Drama are Chhendok Hang Rai, Jit Bahadur Deuja, Subima Shrestha, Saraswati Chaudhary, Rajan Mukarung, and Rekha Shah Gurung.
