RPP lawmaker Oli urges government to deliver results instead of blaming past leaders

KATHMANDU: Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) lawmaker Khushbu Oli has urged the government to focus on delivering results by completing tasks that remained unfinished over the past 35 years.

Speaking during Friday’s meeting of the House of Representatives, Oli said the government should not only question what previous leaders did over the last three decades but should instead set an example by accomplishing what could not be achieved during that period.

She said the recurring increase in gas and petrol prices has remained a long-standing issue and urged the government to take solution-oriented measures, including removing customs duties, electricity charges and VAT imposed on electric stoves.

Oli also criticised the government’s policy of encouraging youth to stay and work in Nepal while continuing to impose tax burdens on ride-sharing services operated by young entrepreneurs. She demanded the removal of such taxes, saying the policy was contradictory.

She also called for a transparent process in the selection of ambassadors.

Oli further made it clear that protests in Parliament would continue until the prime minister corrects his statement regarding the border issue.
