GORKHA: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) General Secretary Kabindra Burlakoti, has said the government will continue to work towards development, prosperity and good governance.
Addressing the inaugural session of RSP Gorkha’s first district convention on Sunday, Burlakoti said the party is committed to cooperating with all political forces on issues related to development and infrastructure.
“The mandate given to the RSP by the people is not for political confrontation with other parties,” he said. “Meaningful results can only be achieved through collective efforts.”
Burlakoti said efforts are underway to revive the Gorakhkali Rubber Industry, adding that he has held repeated discussions with the Ministry of Finance regarding the matter.
He expressed confidence that the private sector could play a significant role in bringing the industry back into operation.
“Whether it is run by the government, the private sector, or through a public-private partnership, the industry must operate again,” he said, expressing hope that tyres produced by the factory would once again be used across the country.
The RSP leader also noted that the government has allocated funds for the Budhigandaki Hydropower Project in the upcoming fiscal year and plans to move the project forward through the formation of an empowered authority and concrete policy decisions.
Stressing the importance of political reform, Burlakoti said progress in all sectors depends on improving governance and political systems.
He further argued that Nepal cannot achieve long-term economic prosperity through remittance inflows alone and must prioritize domestic industrialization and job creation.
According to him, the government’s budget for the upcoming fiscal year has been designed with a focus on development, infrastructure expansion and economic growth.
