Business enterprises urged to participate in national economic survey

KATHMANDU: The National Statistics Office (NSO) has urged business enterprises across the country to participate in the ongoing Second National Economic Survey, which began on April 15.

NSO Director Dr Bed Prasad Dhakal said trading and business firms from both the formal and informal sectors have been requested to take part in the survey.

According to Dr Dhakal, data are being collected from sectors including agriculture, mining, manufacturing, industry, trade, private enterprises, banks and financial institutions, cooperatives, and other businesses.

He added that around 32 percent of the estimated data had been collected as of May 5.

Similarly, more than 7,400 business firms have pledged to submit their details online, while over 1,600 firms have already done so, according to the NSO.
