Govt recalls 6 politically appointed ambassadors

KATHMANDU: The government has decided to recall six ambassadors appointed on political grounds from various countries.

A recent Cabinet meeting endorsed the decision, continuing the practice of withdrawing ambassadors appointed during the tenure of the previous government after a change in administration.

Among those recalled are Nepal’s Ambassador to India Dr. Shankar Prasad Sharma, Ambassador to Australia Chitralekha Yadav, and Ambassador to South Korea Dr. Shivamaya Tumbahangphe.

Similarly, Ambassador to Sri Lanka Dr. Purna Bahadur Nepali, Ambassador to Denmark Sumnima Tuladhar, and Ambassador to South Africa Kapil Shrestha have also been recalled.
