Moderate rain likely in some hilly areas today



KATHMANDU: The weather is expected to remain generally cloudy in the hilly and Himalayan regions of the country, while other areas will experience partly cloudy conditions.

According to the Weather Forecasting Division under the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, there is a possibility of moderate rain and snowfall accompanied by thunder and lightning at some places in the hilly and Himalayan regions. Light to moderate rainfall is also likely at one or two places in the Tarai of Koshi Province.

Tonight, the weather is expected to remain generally cloudy in the hilly and Himalayan regions of Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, as well as in the Himalayan areas of Bagmati and Koshi provinces.

Partly cloudy conditions are likely to persist in the remaining hilly and Tarai regions. The department has also forecast the possibility of moderate rain and snowfall with thunder and lightning at a few places in the hilly and Himalayan regions of Karnali, Sudurpaschim, and Gandaki provinces, and at one or two places in the Himalayan regions of Bagmati and Koshi provinces.
