Badan Kumar Bhandari wins Kavrepalanchok-2 seat for RSP



KATHMANDU: Badan Kumar Bhandari of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has been elected to the House of Representatives from Kavrepalanchok-2.

According to Chief Election Officer Prem Prasad Neupane, Bhandari secured 53,344 votes, defeating his nearest rival by a margin of 35,476 votes.

Nepali Congress candidate Madhu Prasad Acharya received 17,868 votes. Ashok Kumar Byanju of CPN-UML garnered 13,940 votes, while Basundhara Guragain of the Nepal Communist Party secured 8,107 votes.

Similarly, Jyotsna Sainju of the Ujyalo Nepal Party received 3,749 votes, Ranjiv Shrestha of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party got 1,125 votes, Muna Tamang of the Nepal Workers and Peasants Party secured 428 votes, and Tank Bahadur Lama of the Labour Culture Party obtained 400 votes.

A total of 24 candidates contested the election in the constituency, including 16 from various political parties and eight independents.
