RSP’s Sobita Gautam wins Chitwan-3 with large margin



CHITWAN: Sobita Gautam of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has been elected from Chitwan-3 in the House of Representatives election in Nepal.

The election office reported that Gautam secured 59,277 votes. Her closest competitors were Renu Dahal of the Nepali Communist Party with 20,615 votes, Tek Prasad Gurung of the Nepali Congress with 8,344 votes, and Shankar Raj Thapaliya of the UML with 5,004 votes. Deepak Thapamagar of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party received 1,226 votes.

Chitwan-3 has 155,212 registered voters, with 133,000 ballots cast. Of these, 3,375 votes were invalid.
