Balen Shah set to win Jhapa-5 with 38,000-vote lead over KP Oli



KATHMANDU: Balen Shah of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) is set to win in Jhapa-5 as his lead over KP Sharma Oli of the CPN-UML party has become mathematically unassailable.

According to the latest vote count, Shah has secured 52,096 votes, while Oli has received 14,031 votes. The vote margin between the two stands at 38,035.

With only 24,254 votes left to be counted, Oli cannot overtake Shah even if all remaining votes go in his favor.

An official declaration of Shah’s victory from Jhapa-5 is now expected shortly.
