RSP’s Hari Dhakal takes strong lead in Chitwan-1



KATHMANDU: Hari Dhakal of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has taken a clear lead in Chitwan-1 in the ongoing House of Representatives election in Nepal vote count.

According to the latest tally from all wards of Rapti Municipality and Ratnanagar Municipality, Dhakal has secured 38,714 votes.

His closest rival, Rajendra Burlakoti of the Nepali Congress, has received 9,036 votes, while Dawa Dorje Lama of the CPN-UML  has secured 7,931 votes.

Among other candidates, Krishna Raj Pant has received 3,226 votes and Balram Khanal 1,671 votes. Dhakal currently leads by a margin of 29,678 votes as counting continues.
