Vote counting begins in Gorkha-1

KATHMANDU: Vote counting has begun in Gorkha-1 under the ongoing House of Representatives election in Nepal.

Counting started two days after polling due to delays in collecting ballot boxes from remote areas, officials said.

According to Chief Election Officer Bishnu Prasad Gautam, the counting process began at 12:30 pm at the Office of the Chief Election Officer located at the District Coordination Committee.

Security arrangements, including wire mesh barriers, have been set up at the counting center. A total of 12 candidates, including one independent, are contesting in the constituency.
