Chitwan-2 elects RSP Chair Rabi Lamichhane



CHITWAN: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chairman Rabi Lamichhane has been elected from Chitwan Constituency-2 for the third time.

Lamichhane secured 54,402 votes, defeating his nearest rival, Meena Kharel of the Nepali Congress, who received 14,564 votes, by a margin of 39,468 votes.

CPN-UML candidate Asmin Ghimire received 6,992 votes, while Nepali Communist Party’s Pratap Gurung secured 4,969 votes. Out of 87,028 votes cast in the constituency, 2,796 were invalidated.

Lamichhane had previously won from Chitwan-2 in the 2079 BS general election and the 2080 BS by-election.
