Earthquake strikes near Naya Bazar, Ilam



KATHMANDU: An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.0 on the Richter scale struck near Naya Bazar in Mai Jogmai Rural Municipality, Ilam district on Saturday evening.

According to the National Seismological Center in Lainchaur, the epicenter was located in the vicinity of Naya Bazar.
Earlier, on Poush 19, a 4.3 magnitude earthquake occurred near Bagmati, Udayapur.

Being part of the Himalayan region, Nepal frequently experiences earthquakes of varying intensity.
