RPP demands immediate release of Durga Prasai

KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has urged the government to immediately release Durga Prasai.

Issuing a statement on Saturday, the party said its serious attention has been drawn to what it described as the repeated arrest of Prasai with the intent to harass, discourage differing views and suppress dissent.

The statement, issued by RPP Chair Rajendra Lingden, said that the state’s act of targeting an individual out of vengeance is not only inappropriate but also undermines citizens’ constitutionally guaranteed rights, including the freedom to move, speak, write and engage in peaceful protest.

The party has demanded Prasai’s unconditional and immediate release.
