Bus accident in Shankharapur, Kathmandu



KATHMANDU: A bus accident has occurred in Shankharapur Municipality–3 of Kathmandu.

According to Naresh Raj Subedi, spokesperson of the Valley Traffic Police Office and Senior Superintendent of Police, the Mahanagar Yatayat bus bearing registration number Ba 4 Kha 8788 met with an accident on Wednesday evening at the Fedi Jungle section of the road. The bus was returning towards Sankhu after a picnic trip to Jorpati.

He said the bus fell about 100 meters off the road. All passengers have been rescued from the site and taken to various hospitals for treatment. The bus remains at the accident site, and further details are yet to be confirmed.

Police have said that further investigation into the accident is underway.
