37 new polling stations added in Mahottari



MAHOTTARI: A total of 37 new polling stations have been added in Mahottari district for the upcoming election of members of the House of Representatives, scheduled for March 5.

According to the District Election Office, 258 polling centers have been designated across the district, with a total of 536 polling stations set up for the election.

District Election Officer Ranjita Jha said the number of polling stations has increased to 536 from 499 during the previous election, reflecting the addition of 37 new polling stations.

Mahottari has four parliamentary constituencies. In Constituency No. 1, 59 polling centers and 130 polling stations have been established. Similarly, Constituency No. 2 has 62 polling centers and 133 polling stations.

Constituency No. 3 has 77 polling centers and 142 polling stations, while Constituency No. 4 has 60 polling centers and 131 polling stations, Jha said.

According to the District Election Office, a total of 431,282 voters from Mahottari district are eligible to cast their ballots in the House of Representatives election.
