KATHMANDU: Silver prices hit a new record high in the domestic market on Wednesday, according to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association.
The price of silver was fixed at Rs 4,935 per tola, marking an increase of Rs 55 compared to the previous day. On Tuesday, silver was traded at Rs 4,880 per tola. This is the highest price ever recorded for silver in Nepal, surpassing the previous record of Rs 4,895 per tola set on December 29, 2025.
Meanwhile, gold prices witnessed a slight decline. The association said the price of gold dropped by Rs 400 per tola on Wednesday. Gold is now being traded at Rs 267,700 per tola, down from Rs 268,100 per tola a day earlier.
Gold had reached its all-time high on December 28, 2025, when it was traded at Rs 270,600 per tola.
The domestic bullion market continues to fluctuate in line with international trends, impacting precious metal prices in Nepal.
