KATHMANDU: Gold prices soared in the domestic market on Thursday, rising by Rs 8,000 per tola to reach a record Rs 296,000, according to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association.
The federation said fine gold is being traded at Rs 296,000 per tola, up from Rs 288,000 per tola recorded on Wednesday.
Silver prices also increased by Rs 95 per tola, with the metal trading at Rs 4,570 per tola on Thursday. It had closed at Rs 4,475 per tola in the previous trading session.
According to international media reports, gold was trading at around USD 4,265 per ounce in the global market, while silver was priced at USD 62 per ounce, supporting the upward trend in domestic precious metal prices.
