Both Houses of Federal Parliament meeting today



KATHMANDU: Separate meetings of the House of Representatives (HoR) and the National Assembly (NA) are scheduled to take place today.

The HoR will convene at 1:00 pm. According to the Federal Parliament Secretariat, three ordinances will be tabled during the meeting.

General Secretary Padma Prasad Pandey said Home Minister Sudhan Gurung is expected to present the Voter List (First Amendment) Ordinance, 2082, the House of Representatives Member Election (First Amendment) Ordinance, 2082, and the Nepal Special Service (Second Amendment) Ordinance, 2082 for approval.

Similarly, the NA meeting is set for 12:15 pm at Singha Durbar. During the session, NA member Prem Prasad Dangal is scheduled to propose Lila Kumari Bhandari for election as Vice Chairperson of the National Assembly.

Prime Minister Balendra Shah is also expected to present the 24th annual report of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) for the fiscal year 2080/81 in today’s NA meeting.
