RSP secures 59 percent of PR votes in Kathmandu-1

KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) is showing strong performance in the proportional representation (PR) vote count.

As PR vote counting begins in Kathmandu Constituency-1, early results indicate a significant lead for the RSP, similar to its performance in the direct election.

Of the 11,154 votes counted so far, the RSP has secured 59 percent of the votes. Nepali Congress is in second place with 19 percent, followed by the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) with 9 percent. CPN-UML has received about 5 percent of the votes.

The preliminary PR results from Kathmandu-1 show a clear lead for the RSP. While the figures may change as counting continues, the current trend suggests strong support for the party in proportional voting as well.

In the same constituency, RSP candidate Ranju Darshana has already won the direct election. The party’s performance indicates growing support among young and independent-minded voters in the Kathmandu Valley.
