RSP wave reflects peaceful public rebellion for good governance: Baburam Bhattarai

KATHMANDU: Former Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai has described the public wave in favor of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) as a peaceful rebellion by citizens seeking good governance and prosperity.

Bhattarai made the remarks on social media as preliminary election results were being announced.

“A nationwide wave in favor of the newly formed RSP has emerged in the general elections held under the special circumstances following the historic people’s movement. Everyone must accept that this is essentially an expression of a peaceful rebellion by ordinary citizens to fulfill their aspirations for good governance and prosperity,” Bhattarai wrote.

He also congratulated the RSP and its leadership. Bhattarai expressed hope that the party would succeed in addressing the country’s long-standing internal economic and political challenges, as well as external geopolitical issues, while fulfilling the legitimate aspirations of the people.
