RSP’s Amresh Singh takes early lead over Gagan Thapa in Sarlahi-4



KATHMANDU: Gagan Kumar Thapa, President of the Nepali Congress, has faced an early setback in the vote count in Sarlahi Constituency No. 4.

According to the latest preliminary results, Dr. Amresh Singh of the Rastriya Swatantra Party is leading the race with 1,908 votes, putting him well ahead of Thapa.

Thapa has so far secured 536 votes in the ongoing count.

Most of the votes counted so far are from Balara, Singh’s hometown, where around 3,000 votes have already been tallied, giving him a significant early advantage.

Meanwhile, the Nepal Samajwadi Party candidate has received 369 votes, while the Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist–Leninist) candidate has secured 69 votes so far.

Thapa had left Kathmandu Constituency No. 4 to contest the election from Sarlahi-4 this time. Meanwhile, in Kathmandu-4, the Rastriya Swatantra Party is also seen leading in the vote count.
