RSP candidates leading in most Kathmandu constituencies



KATHMANDU: Vote counting is underway across several constituencies in Kathmandu, with preliminary results showing candidates of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) leading in many areas. The Election Commission has released early vote count details from multiple constituencies in the capital.

According to the Commission, RSP’s Pradeep Bista is leading in Kathmandu Constituency-10 securing 2,551 votes so far. Himal Karki of the Nepali Congress has received 545 votes, while Binod Shrestha of the CPN-UML has garnered 286 votes. Balaram Thapa of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has received 204 votes, Rakesh Neupane of the Ujyalo Nepal Party 78 votes, and Rupa Maharjan of the Nepal Communist Party 54 votes.

In Kathmandu Constituency No. 8, Biraj Bhakta Shrestha of the RSP has received 3,290 votes. Sapana Rajbhandari of the Nepali Congress has secured 349 votes, closely followed by Suman Sayami of the Nepali Communist Party with 348 votes. Nabin Shahi of the RPP has received 236 votes, while Rajesh Shakya of the CPN-UML has secured 231 votes.

Similarly, in Kathmandu Constituency No. 7, RSP candidate Ganesh Parajuli has received 1,481 votes, followed by Prakash Shrestha of the CPN-UML with 308 votes, Pramod Hari Guragain of the Nepali Congress with 282 votes, and Basanta Prasad Manandhar of the Nepali Communist Party with 208 votes.

In Kathmandu Constituency No. 1, Ranju Neupane of the RSP has secured 3,129 votes. Nepali Congress candidate Prabal Thapa Chhetri has received 1,695 votes, Rabindra Mishra of the RPP 882 votes, and Mohan Raj Regmi of the CPN-UML 272 votes.

In Kathmandu Constituency-2, Sunil KC of the RSP has received 424 votes, while Maniram Phuyal of the CPN-UML has secured 236 votes and Kabir Sharma of the Nepali Congress 194 votes.

In Kathmandu Constituency-3, Rajunath Pandey of the RSP is leading followed by Kulman Ghising of the Ujyalo Nepal Party.

According to the Election Commission’s update, in Kathmandu Constituency-4, Pukar Bam of the RSP is leading so far followed by Rajan Bhattarai of the CPN-UML.

In Kathmandu Constituency-5, RSP candidate Sashmit Pokharel is leading followed by Nepali Congress candidate Pradeep Paudel.
